My take on the book:

Unspoken is a collection of seven short stories all centered around the theme of decisions we make in daily life, and their consequences; life changing decisions which the people involved might regret all life.

The first story Deliverance is about a married woman’s choices between her love for husband and baby and how she is caught in her self-imposed guilt. Unfinished Business is about two lovers Mihir and Jaya and will they be able to correct their mistakes second time around. Stella is about Stella and Maya , their friendship and finally accepting their truth.

Three to Tango is the love story of Rishaan, Kiara and Diya with mutual feelings for each other. The Date is about Aditi and her unusual date with a loved one. A Twist of Fate is story of extremely unfortunate fate that awaited Shantanu. The Doll is an interesting suspense story around a doll talisman found by an elderly couple, which scares people around them, except the lady of the house who fearlessly finds the truth behind it.

At 38 pages, the book is a short and concise collection of stories, with simple language and neat narration. While all the stories are centered around decisions and how they affect the lives of those involved as well as the people around them, most of these stories end up around similar theme of love especially lost love. While the stories are good standalone, they get boring towards the end due to the repeating theme. Also, there isn’t much shock value or freshness as the stories give a deja vu feeling. Pick this short story collection for a quick lazy-day read.
